Google OS Challenges

Google has already announced Google Chrome OS, Google's latest endeavor to conquer Microsoft’s top spot. Google has announced this just before the much hyped launch of Windows 7, Microsoft’s latest Operating System.

However, for Google, it wont be that easy to conquer the stale Operating System market considering Mac OS X and Linux are also into the race coming with more and more features and updates every day.

Here are few challenges that Google Chrome OS will have to face with its OS:

  1. Hardware Support – Will all the hardware manufacturers give drivers compatible to the Google OS?
  2. Mac Support – Will Mac support the Google OS?
  3. Graphic Support – Will tools like Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver and other Graphical and Imaging software which are essential for web developers and designers run on Google Chrome?
  4. Software Support – Will Google OS support Microsoft SDKs like Visual Basic, ASP.Net, C# and other languages like C, C++. Softwares like 3D Studio, Autodesk, Maya and others?
  5. Game Support – The biggest challenge for Google OS will be to support high end games. The game lovers will surely ask Google, Can you support the next generation Games??

It will be really interesting to see what Google Chrome comes with.

I think you did not read the press release. The Chrome OS is targeted to people who don't need anything more than access to the web, and want a speedy boot and no extra hassle (like other software, security, viruses etc). Hardware support will be provided by the Linux kernel.

Why do you think it won't get any virus. Every OS has to excute the codes and virus and malware are codes.
